By far our favorite luggage for several years now has been the Briggs & Riley Baseline spinner. This bag is simply heads and shoulders above most of the competition. Tumi puts forward a few good bags as well but in the high end, nothing beats Briggs & Riley. They cater mainly to business travelers that have the need for suiters and other business-oriented organization needs. But our favorite part is Briggs & Riley’s amazing warranty that even covers airline damage! Nobody else in the industry stands behind their bags like Briggs & Riley. Period. Full stop.
For the mid-range we have to go with TravelPro and their Platinum Magna 2. This is probably the best bang for the buck you will find in the carry on luggage industry. It’s slightly less full featured little brother, the TravelPro MaxLite 4 is also a very good bag. They are both built very well and it always surprises up how inexpensive they are for the quality.
Bluesmart continues to be our pick for the best “smart luggage” with their Bluesmart black edition. This bag includes USB charging, GPS tracking and auto-locking. We’re really excited to see where this category goes in the future as more bag makers add smart technology to their bags.
Lastly, there are some really great bare-bones offerings from Delsey, Rockland, Kenneth Cole and Samsonite. All of these bags have been super well-received by consumers but they won’t really turn any heads. But if you’re in the market for something inexpensive it is hard to argue with these choices.
